a month later

I've been home for about a month now. I went from working at the Peaks to now working at RBG, and picking up some shifts at Telluride Coffee Company. I worked at the Peaks for about two weeks before I decided to quit, because of many reasons wrong with their management in food and beverage. But, I'm okay with that, the only downside to not working there anymore is that they shut off my employee ski pass. I wasn't too bummed about it because there hadn't been much snow and the weather was making the mountain icy. Over the past 30 hours though we've gotten like 14 plus inches, and not being able to go out on the mountain is heart breaking. I'll find a way to get out there though!
While being home, I decided to not eat meat anymore, but still eat fish, this way I get some source of protein. I don't eat fish everyday though. It's been a challenge, but I think it's getting easier. The most difficult part about it is trying to make meals that will be filling and keep me full for a decent amount of time. Completely cutting out chicken, beef, and pork from my diet though has left me with low iron levels. I'm working on fixing that with supplements and other healthy foods packed with iron.
I'd have to say the actual hardest part about not eating meat, is working in a restaurant. Seeing everyone order burgers, and wings, all the good stuff, and the smells just fill the air around you! That makes me crave it even more. I've lasted a month though, and I am really proud of myself to putting my mind towards something, and being able to keep up with it, and be able to have gone this far without giving in.
If you decide you want to give up meat one day too, make sure you research about the downsides, and get supplements, especially iron. I got my blood work done, and that was the one thing that was sufficiently low, so be careful, still eat right, and listen to your body.
I'm still on the constant look out for a home in Bellingham unfortunately. It's hard to try and find a place to live when you aren't even in that general area to look at places, and meet potential roommates. I keep looking everyday, and I message about three people a day, so I'm definitely trying. I'm thinking about leaving Telluride a little earlier than I planned, I haven't made it official yet, but even just an extra week to really look for a place to live on my own, and meet people could make a really big difference in me finding a place to live before the spring quarter starts.
Other than those things, not a whole lot has been going on with me, just work, yoga, and sleeping. This week is Gay Ski Week though! I am so excited to be able to go to the White Party this year. I'll share more about it after it happens, which will be this Thursday! All week is full of events though for those who are visiting, and going out to special events, and planned parties. I had a couple tickets to a party tonight at The Moon, but I haven't been feeling well so I decided to give them to a friend. I might as well rest up for Thursday.
I'm also really hoping that the white dress I ordered gets here in time with this snow storm going on. Otherwise, I have nothing to wear! I literally don't own white, I think it's one of the worst colors to have in your closet, it gets so dirty so easily, maybe that's just with me though.
I love the idea of Gay Ski Week, I think it sends out an important message to people, and the world that love is love, and we all have to right to love who we want and there is nothing wrong with that. It's one of the most amazing ways to send a message and have a blast at the same time! I'll be super excited to share what goes on the rest of this week, it should be super fun!
I'm also praying I can figure out a way to go skiing this week. I kind of have a plan, but we'll see if it actually works.
Having more time for myself during the week, I'll be able to post a little more and keep you guys updated on my life, and Telluride.
HAPPY GAY SKI WEEK! LOVE EVERYONE.
